Katie, a freelance video editor desperate for work, receives a high-paying offer from an anonymous employer to edit a mysterious and bizarre video. With no money and facing eviction, Katie eagerly accepts the gig. The video shows people being tortured and even murdered on camera – surely an elaborate fiction. But when that first job leads to an even more lucrative job and disturbingly realistic snuff films, Katie’s life begins to unravel. Strange characters haunt her apartment, terrifying nightmares keep her awake, and a mysterious illness plagues her cat. It’s only when Katie finally decides to quit her job that she discovers just how cruel her anonymous employer really is and how far she herself will go to break the contract.
